Home owners in Chatham, MA seem to really pay attention to the details. Love this scallop house number.

Not that anyone was waiting to hear this news but the 16 year old computer genius was able to save everything from my hard drive - including all my pictures from the last 3 years! Then I had him turn my computer into a Linux - goodbye Windows forever. My husband now has the Linux, I have my son's iMac and my son got a new MacBook Pro. I guess that's some form of + trickle down economics.

Stalking "My" Seaside House

More accurately, STILL stalking this story book seaside house in Watch Hill, RI. The reference to "my" is strictly aspirational. I can't visit Watch Hill without gazing at this house and taking as many pictures as possible - even with husband and kids reminding me I already have all these same pictures!
The quality of the detailing is incredible and just amps up the charm of this home.
Here I am peering through the gate meant to keep people like me at bay.

the Adriondack Chair

The Adriondack chair is a classic American outdoor chair, originally designed by Thomas Lee for his sumer cottage in the Adriondack Mountains as earley as 1903. It makes me think of summers by the beach in New England. I just got one in teak for our patio in London to add a bit of beach feel to city living, very comfy for a coffee break in the sun.

I keep saying it, but it is almost summer and spending time outside now becomes a priority more then any other time of the year. At least that is true for us all in the colder and darker part of the Northern hemisphere. I want to create a "living room" on my terrace and Pottery Barn has a few ideas to steal.

sI am spending time over Easter to get our terrace ready for the summer, I can't wait to use it for bbq's and Friday night dinners. Inspired by the River Cafe in London's Hammarsmith (if you are living in London or are visiting London in the summer I strongly recommend a visit, especially for a lazy Saturday lunch outside) we are also extending the herb garden to be self sufficient in this department this summer.
