White Floors

White washed limed floor boards like the below has for the last few years been very popular in Scandinavia and is slowly coming to the UK too. For the new house I have been to, I think, all floor companies in London and have about 100 samples. Since the rooms are not that big I'm thinking light floors, but how light is the best light? Herringbone Floors

Swedish apartments from the beginning of the last century often have herringbone parquet floors. I love the look of them, but am not sure whether a small Victorian terrace can the grandeur of them...Still however considering the option and would probably go for oiled/ waxed, which is soft to walk on, in a warm not to yellow stain. The London based Walking on Wood has a great selection and my current favorite in Militaire.

New Floors

Moving means new floors and it's not such an easy task The floor give the whole house a certain look and feel and is a very important decision and an expensive one. I am thinking of just having someone sanding, white washing and oiling the existing timber, but am just not sure about the UK quality...

Nice Floors

I like white washed, limes and waxed floor boards that are soft to walk on and bounces light. However, the mainstream UK house buyer will think white floorboards are odd and am therefore thinking about staining the floors dark. The below pictures demonstrate that the effect of dark floors white walls can be amazing.
