Office Furniture

Office Furniture

The range of computer desks on wheels create perfect space saving office furniture ideas. When you’re shopping for a office desk, look for models that have additional shelving for a phone, fax, printer and files. Vertical shelving can be a tremendous space saver for every office. Some are multi-tiered and have space for desktop monitors, keyboards and even printers or scanners. Others are simply compact desks for laptops that at least keep the hot and uncomfortable laptop computers off of your lap. You can roll these desks out of the way into the corner when not in use.

Health experts recommend that those who work on computers for long periods elevate their feet using a small stool throughout the day। This helps to promote healthy circulation and prevents aches and fatigue.

Office Furniture

For your office, consider using a small, multifunctional stool that has an inside compartment for storage. You can keep CD’s, extra pens and other useful office supplies out of the way to prevent clutter.

Don’t keep your pencils, rulers, scrap paper and the like stacked in piles on your desk or table. Get a desk organizer with multiple compartments and pull-out drawers so that everything is in easy reach and organized. Some compact designs can fit on even the smallest desks and make the perfect companion for wheeled computer desks that often don’t include space for drawers and storage.

Office Furniture

Office chairs with ergonomic designs are great for your back and can reduce tension and aches throughout your workday। Furthermore, you can find them in a wide variety of styles and designs, many of which have clever space saving functions। Look for ergonomic chairs with back storage pockets and armrest cup holders, for example। You can also create your own customized chair with storage pockets that you can strap on to the side or back of your chair। This gives you even more control over your workspace, and lets you put storage compartments in the most convenient places possible।

Wall hooks, over the door hangers and shelves can help keep the things you use frequently from overtaking your working surfaces and the floor। Using your walls for additional storage is a great space saving technique that can make even the smallest spaces feel open and spacious।

Space saving office furniture can help you create a serene workspace where you can really focus on important tasks। Whether you need a desk, office chair, filing cabinet or other storage solutions, it’s important to look for the most space efficient products available। Again, making smart use of your vertical wall space can do wonders in this regard। Take the time to shop around to look for the best deals, and be sure to look online for discounts and sales। Make the most out of your work space with functional, attractive, and space-saving office furniture

A Cool Double Bed at Vento Modular Sofa by Thomas Althaus

Friday, April 22, 2011

Here’s Vento, modular sofa by Thomas Althaus which can be turn into bed. We love the idea how this furniture able to transform itself into a bed but we wouldn’t recommend so to use this kind of bed in a small space house. What is great about this modular furniture is the flexibility in choosing to arrange the bed where once being transform it will leave a space where you can leave or put your books, CDs, Drinks, and other objects next to the bed.
The sofa bed furniture has a special support of night table and the modern couch can support for up to two persons. It’s not a space saving idea furniture but it’s definitely modular. This modular sofa has L shape design where the other part remains fix. It’s an intermediate seating solution if you’re looking for a two in one furniture design.

Interesting Styles for Modern Bedding

Sunday, February 13, 2011

Interesting styles of modern bedding allow you to take a basic platform bed and really turn it into something quite special. You can get these bedding sets quite inexpensively at just Walmart or IKEA. Here are a few styles that you should really look out for.
You don't have to get an entire bedding set to make an entirely new look in your room. In this case it makes a lot more sense to just invest in white high thread count sheets that are comfortable and luxurious. You can even have these for several years. Then, you might just want to make sure that you also get a lot of the white bedding that is so popular but mix in some colorful quilts or really basic patterned pillowcases.
We are also seeing the pillows being integrated a lot more into this design style. In fact the branches or flowers can really flow straight from the comforter up to the pillowcase in a continuous design and this is where the drama comes into the room.
You can also really play around with the look of oversized throws. Velvet and faux fur are two very popular fabrics but it can also be a little bit too expensive. Designer versions can cost thousands of dollars. Instead, look at discount stores for polyester versions. This can even mimic a faux mink. Look for faux silvers and grays that look as real as possible but are still animal friendly and really easy to care for. Just placing one of these on the edge of your bed is really gives you a very luxurious element on a budget and adds a lot of character to solid colors of bedding. You can also change up where you use this by bringing in orange crib bedding which is definitely going to be an unusual choice for a nursery.

Is It A Pigeon Basket or A Coffee Table?

A basket for carrying pigeons.

A coffee table made out of a basket used for carrying pigeons.

Why not?

They are pretty much one-of-a-kind, as they are made from actual pigeon baskets with casters added on the bottom and a glass top to make it functional. But never fear, wait long enough and Pottery Barn will knock-it off and you can buy a mass produced one straight from their catalog. And so can your neighbor. And their neighbor. And so on and so on....

Do you remember the Friends episode where Rachel bought the Apothecary table at Pottery Barn but lied and told Phoebe that she got it at a flea market because Phoebe hates Pottery Barn? I actually saw that episode being filmed when I was in L.A. Still cracks me up....

Steele Marcoux's Cottage

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

In the most recent issue of Southern Living, I was delighted to see a feature on Steele Marcoux's, Coastal Living's design editor, quirky but cheerful cottage.  The thirty month remodeling project produced a stunning 1920's 1800 square foot cottage.  Let's take a peek.

So many things I love.  Where to begin?  I love the custom touch of the full-length lumbar pillow on her  Lee Industries sofa.   She seamlessly mixes high and low end furnishings by pairing her Lee Industries sofa with a West Elm jute rug and Target coffee tables.

I have to say I haven't always been a huge fan of the honeycomb mirror, but it is perfect in this space!  And, yes it is the Pier 1 version.  Behind the sofa is a black painted console table that she upgraded by placing a mirror (instead of glass) on top of it.  Love that custom touch and all the touches of 'green' especially the green mini shades on the chandelier.

Traditional meets modern with the antique secretary paired with the lucite stool.  Love it!  Steele lined the inside of the secretary with a cream wallpaper to lighten it up. Brilliant!

I love the color she painted on these walls - grayish pink called Calamine by Farrow & Ball.  I love the camelback sofa paired with the painted cane back chairs and all the pops of pink, green and brown (note the Ziggurat curtain fabric by Quadrille?).

Love the chinoiserie meets Palm Beach feel of her dining room.  She introduces an unexpected pattern by adding wallpaper which is a great touch.   One of the things I found amazing is that Steele and her husband had almost nothing (very little furniture and small budget) when they moved into this cottage and yet their home looks like it has been lived in and effortlessly collected over years.  It's perfection if you ask me!
